Alethea Plummer was a retired Psychiatric Nurse and Registered Midwife. She was a radical Christian for 44 years. She was a member of the Covenant Community Church Kingston Jamaica for 30 years, where she served and functioned as an Ordained Minister of the Gospel for over twenty-five years.

As a called Intercessor, Alethea was a tender-hearted, compassionate lover of people who was always ready to stand in the gap before God’s throne on behalf of others in prayer.  She had such an uncommon burden for souls and nations that it is no surprise that she faithfully functioned as Head of the Church Intercessory Ministry for twenty years. She also diligently manned the telephone prayer line of the National Intercessory Prayer Network of Jamaica for over twenty years. She was the voice at the end of the phone for so many desperate people.

‘Nurse Plummer,’ as she was affectionately called, was a woman of vision who was strong, determined, and optimistic and whose faith in the Lord Jesus was unshakeable and immovable throughout the good and the bad times. Wherever she was to be found and whatever she was engaged in, she was always found praising God and giving Him the glory for His goodness. She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed.
